In a pre-digital era, typesetting referred to the composition of text by means of arranging physical type into rows of trays to be inked and impressed upon paper. If I were born in the letterpress era, I would hope to have been elbows-deep in soot and ink to create words on paper. Today, I have the opportunity to do so much more.
I am an information designer. A designer of information. Information. By design.
My design philosophy is rooted in the core expression of type|setting: setting type [content] and graphics in a composition that allows users to access the information they need to understand their world better – and enjoy it.
My background in publishing allows me to look beyond the decorative aspects of graphic design to construct visual messages through the marriage of words and images. This approach, combined with my practical copywriting and digital design capabilities, allows me to compile meaningful communication products.
